Each spring, Camp Juliette Low hosts a special weekend for girls (ages 5 to 15) and their parents to experience all the excitement of camp compressed into two fun-filled days!
Parent-Daughter Weekend is May 5 - 7, 2017
Parent-Daughter Weekend is full—please call the winter office to be added to the wait list!
This weekend is a chance for…
New or prospective campers (ages 5 to 15) to become more comfortable with the outdoor life at camp
Returning campers to bring a friend to “try out” camp
Parents to learn more about CJL and to share in the fun!
How to register… Online registration is available through Bunk 1. To register online, click the link and create a free Bunk 1 account, which will allow you to access and view your account at any time. Once you register through Bunk 1, you will automatically be transferred to a secure payment page where you can make a credit card payment. A link to the online application is also located on the Forms and Applications page under the For Parents tab.
Health Form The health form is mandatory, and can be filled out by a parent or guardian.
Parent’s Packet The parent’s packet provides detailed information about arrival, accommodations, rules, and the daily schedule.
Friday: Arrive between 5:00 and 7:00pm ET, if possible. Bring your own supper or eat before arrival. Enjoy an evening activity and s’mores before bed.
Saturday: Experience a full day of camp activities and delicious meals, and end the day with a campfire and singing.
Sunday: After breakfast, attend a brief “Scout’s Own” ceremony. Departure by 11am.
Activities… During Parent-Daughter Weekend, campers and parents participate in four classes (canoeing, archery, crafts, and the climbing wall) and many camp activities including games, singing, campfires, and (weather permitting) playing in the swimming hole at the river. Parents are given the chance to enjoy classes and camp activities with their daughters, as well as meet with the directors and some of the summer staff.
Tent-living… Each girl and her parent (mom, dad, or other guardian) will sleep together in a sturdy, four-person platform tent with two other assigned tent mates. If you are bringing two daughters, both parents may attend to make a tent of four. You may also request your tent mates.
Meals… Camp will provide three delicious meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Meals are handled just as they are during the summer: the kitchen staff prepares the food, and the campers (girls and moms and dads!) supply the clean-up power.
Cost… $75.00 per person. Includes 4 meals, snacks, craft supplies, classes, and staffing costs. Full payment is required upon registration.
Refunds… After registering for Parent-Daughter Weekend, if you find you can not attend, a full refund will be given before April 1st. Refunds are given after April 1st, only if your spot is filled, so please let us know as soon as possible. We normally have a wait-list, and families who are ready to attend at the last minute!
Questions about Parent-Daughter Weekend, including registration, payment, late arrival or early departure, tenting and dietary requests can be directed to the camp office: 770-428-1062 or info@CJL.org.
